Food 4 Thought (F4T): A Program that Feeds and Supports Students

How a simple idea turned into a meaningful service for students in need

What is F4T?

Food 4 Thought (also known as F4T) is a program that provides free hot and nutritious lunches for students every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This program is made possible through the generous donations of participating congregations, who dedicate their time and resources to ensure that every student has access to a warm meal. But F4T is more than just about providing a meal – it’s about creating a sense of community and belonging for students.

Why F4T?

At F4T, we work hard to foster a welcoming and home-like atmosphere that encourages students to study, relax, and socialize with their peers. We believe that a supportive environment can make a true difference in a student’s academic success, and our goal is to be a safe haven for those who need it.

Many students face financial challenges that make it difficult for them to afford nutritious food on a regular basis. Some students may also experience loneliness or isolation, especially if they are away from their families or friends. F4T aims to address these issues by offering a free meal and a friendly place where students can feel valued and cared for.

What else does F4T do?

In addition to our weekly Wednesday lunches, we also host an annual Thanksgiving Feast for students who cannot travel home for the holiday. This special event allows students to enjoy a family-style dinner in the company of their F4T family, creating cherished memories that will stay with them long after graduation.

We also organize other activities and events throughout the year, such as guest speakers, workshops, games, and celebrations. These events are designed to enrich the student’s experience and provide them with opportunities to learn new skills, have fun, and connect with others who share their interests and values.

How can I get involved?

If you are a student who would like to join us for a free lunch, you are more than welcome. No registration or identification is required – just show up and enjoy. We serve our lunches at United Campus Ministries, located at 2453 Dena Drive. We look forward to meeting you and making you feel at home
